Narrow rims and heavy tires used to be the norm. Today, however, wide rims can be combined with new, light tire types. But really wide, high-quality rims were inevitably still a bit heavier than their narrow brothers, otherwise durability suffered. Syntace was the first to break this vicious circle in 2011. The original Syntace rim W33 was the first such wide and light aluminum rim on the market. After more than 5 years of experience, it has been improved with an even better aluminum alloy and with a profile that has been further developed in many test runs and made 50 g lighter.
The enlarged nipple seat diameter (spoke hole 5.1 mm) enables the nipples to be embedded at the correct angle and prevents the spokes from buckling when there are few spokes and spokes are short. The spherical contact area of the ABS Lock nipples on the spoke hole guarantees perfect alignment with the spoke and achieves a power-oriented structure for heavily loaded wheels.

Stronger than the spoke
Significantly more crack-resistant spoke anchoring in the rim base thanks to the SmoothFit profile. Perfectly angular embedding of the nipples in the rim bed. More durable than previous rim bases or mere shims that add weight to the rim but do not reinforce the edge of the spoke hole.

A notice:
This rim has 5.1 mm spoke holes and needs the ABS Lock FG2.3 spoke nipples developed by Syntace to build a wheel!
