The innovative impeller mounting system from DT Swiss! Instead of the eccentric clamping principle developed for road bikes more than 80 years ago, the clamping force of the RWS is built up by tightening a screw connection with a lever.

The DT Swiss RWS quick release has been specially developed for the standard Predictive Steering with 15 mm axle diameter at the front wheel. This standard is found on the Rock Shox RS-1.
The big advantage lies in the higher thickness of the axle , which results in a much stiffer fork. The difference is especially noticeable when approaching, cornering and braking.

Operation is very simple: Tighten the tensioner by turning the lever clockwise as tight as possible by hand (at least 15 Nm). Depending on the fork construction, this can also be done by repositioning the lever several times. Then lift the lever and turn it to the desired position – the impeller is securely and firmly mounted.

Because the RWS has no plastic parts in the force flow, the clamping force is independent of temperature and thus the RWS is 100% disc brake compatible!
The direct transfer of leverage to the thread allows the RWS to achieve up to 50% more clamping force than conventional quick-releases. This is not only safer, but also increases the stiffness, which is particularly noticeable in disc brakes.Technical specifications:
