VECNUM stem freeQENCE | 31.8mm
The freeQENCE spring-loaded stem absorbs up to 75% of the vibrations/impacts and thus reduces your fatigue. You are more comfortable, faster and safer on roads, cobblestones, gravel, trails or in technical passages. By significantly relieving the wrists, tingling and numb hands can be avoided.
The torsion-resistant, ultra-compact parallelogram construction guarantees optimal mount of vertical impacts. In contrast to spring-loaded single-pivot stems, the handlebar does not tilt, and the frame geometry is not changed in contrast to the suspension fork. The parallelogram of the freeQENCE spring-loaded stem enables internal spring linkage.
Due to the complex parallelogram kinematics, the spring characteristic is not influenced by the lever length – in contrast to single-pivot stems. Whether in the hoods, drop or top position. The suspension and damping performance always remains the same and optimal.
Four inconspicuous, perfectly tuned high-tech elastomer bodies protect you from impacts. The maximum spring deflection of 30 mm in zero position is divided into 20 mm positive spring deflection and 10 mm negative spring deflection. Basically like SAG in a suspension fork. The freeQENCE spring-loaded stem has a homogeneous, linear spring characteristic with strong end progression at both end stops.
The freeQENCE spring-loaded stem can easily be steplessly adjusted to your weight or purpose using the 3mm Allen screw on the right-hand side. The patented spring linkage in the stem makes setting the spring characteristic easier than with any suspension fork.
Vecnum’s freeQENCE is consistently load and weight-optimized – 287 grams (manufacturer information) with a length of 90mm. That’s only about 150 grams more weight than a standard stem. Without the disadvantages of a suspension fork – your bike has no aerodynamic disadvantages, it remains light and agile in sprints and out of the saddle, the geometry remains unchanged. You don’t need a lockout with the freeQENCE stem.
The freeQENCE spring-loaded stem is mounted like a standard A-Head stem. The conversion is child’s play and can be completed in just a few minutes. Thanks to the Open Face 4-bolt clamp, nothing needs to be removed from the handlebars.
Available in three lengths – 90mm, 105mm, 120mm.
Note: aframe-dependent minimum distance to the head tube must be determined and maintained with the freeQENCE 90 using the test gauge. The gauge is enclosed with the 90 mm stem or you can download it in advance from the Vecnum homepage to print out.
