The Race Face AR rims offer an inexpensive alternative to the ARC high-end aluminum rims. In contrast to the ARC rims, they weigh slightly more due to a different aluminum alloy, but with the identical rim profile they have the same design-related advantages on the trail. By offsetting the spoke holes, extremely stiff and durable wheels can be built with the AR rims. This is achieved by a more balanced spoke tension between the drive side and non-drive side. The AR offset rims are available with an inner width of 25 to 40 millimeters, covering a intended use from XC to aggressive all-mountain.
A specially shaped rim base with a central recess and minimalist, short hooks on the rim flange keep the tire on the rim in every situation, even with low air pressure. If you drive tires on a wide rim, the risk of the tire jumping off is reduced, buckling in curves is prevented and puncture protection is increased. Due to the larger contact surface of the tire, the grip is significantly improved.
The black anodized finish saves weight and gives the rims a subtle look with their vinyl decals. With a separately available tubeless kit, the rims can be converted to tubeless ready. Technical specifications:
